Charleston, West Virginia – Thunderstorms could snarl commutes and spark localized flooding Thursday across Charleston as another round of heavy rain targets the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon into the evening, with new rainfall totals possibly nearing an inch. Flood-prone areas along I-64 and U.S. Route 60 may see brief high water, especially where multiple rounds of rain overlap.

The National Weather Service’s Hazardous Weather Outlook highlights potential water issues through tonight but eases concerns from Friday through early next week. No severe weather is currently expected beyond localized downpours.
