Charleston, WV – Spotty drizzle is expected tonight in the northeast mountains of West Virginia, while most areas remain dry. This calm weather pattern will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday, accompanied by cold temperatures overnight.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston, a front will move in Wednesday night, bringing rain to the region. For the lowland areas, rainfall will be the main concern. However, colder temperatures in the northeast mountains may lead to a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

By Thursday, the precipitation will likely return to rain before tapering off. On Friday, lingering clouds and occasional showers are expected, but conditions should improve as the day progresses. Saturday is forecasted to bring drier air, providing a calm start to the weekend.

West Virginia residents should prepare for potential slippery road conditions and stay updated on forecasts as the week progresses.
