Charleston, WV – After a partly sunny Friday, rain and gusty winds are set to return to Charleston and surrounding areas this weekend. While temperatures will remain mild, scattered showers and breezy conditions could impact outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring a 20% chance of rain before 1 p.m., with winds reaching up to 29 mph. Sunday has a 30% chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m., though partly sunny conditions will persist throughout the day. Temperatures will hover around 60°F, making it a relatively mild weekend despite the rain.

Rain will intensify Sunday night, with a 100% chance of showers and lows dipping to 48°F. Monday morning could see lingering showers before clearing to mostly sunny skies and a high of 63°F.

For travelers, visibility may be reduced during periods of rain, especially on major roads such as I-64 and US-119. Wind gusts on Saturday could also make driving difficult for high-profile vehicles. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items ahead of the weekend winds.

Looking ahead, Tuesday brings another 40% chance of showers, with highs near 56°F. By Wednesday, the weather stabilizes with partly cloudy skies and a high of 57°F.

With shifting conditions ahead, residents should stay updated with real-time forecasts and be prepared for sporadic showers and gusty winds this weekend.
