Charleston, WV – A warming trend will bring above-normal temperatures Monday, but West Virginia residents should prepare for soaking rain midweek. Rain chances increase Tuesday night, with a significant system expected to bring steady rainfall Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, Charleston will see highs near 67°F Monday before a cooling trend midweek. Rain is likely Wednesday morning, with a 70% chance by afternoon, increasing to 90% overnight. Thursday will be even wetter, with widespread showers and highs around 62°F.
Friday will bring a brief dry period with partly sunny skies and highs near 49°F, but another system may develop by next weekend. Drivers should use caution as heavy rain could reduce visibility and create slick roads on I-64 and Route 119 midweek.
Temperatures will fluctuate, with lows ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s. The best day for outdoor activities will be Monday, while Wednesday and Thursday will be the wettest. Residents should prepare for potential travel disruptions midweek.
