Charleston, WV – Freezing rain is making for dangerous conditions in parts of West Virginia and western Virginia this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, ice accumulations between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch are expected. Roads, bridges, and sidewalks will be extremely slippery, making travel hazardous.
Motorists should delay travel if possible until conditions improve. Warmer temperatures later this morning will transition freezing rain to regular rain, gradually improving road conditions.
