Greeley, CO – The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is renewing public attention this week to a decades-old cold case involving a woman whose body was found in a rural irrigation ditch in 1992. Deputies say the case remains unsolved 32 years later, and investigators are again asking for tips from the community.
According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, the woman—24 years old at the time—was discovered by hunters on November 14, 1992, in a concrete irrigation ditch near Weld County roads 20 and 51, roughly four miles northeast of Hudson. Investigators reported she had been using several aliases in the Denver area.
Authorities stated that the woman’s cause and manner of death were never determined, leaving detectives with limited leads. Because she had connections to the Denver metro and surrounding areas, investigators believe someone may recall information that could assist in the case.
The sheriff’s office periodically revisits long-standing unsolved cases, and this anniversary marks another effort to bring attention to the investigation in hopes that new information may surface. Deputies emphasized that even small details—whether from former residents, workers in the area at the time, or individuals who may have known the woman through her various aliases—could help move the case forward.
Anyone with information related to the woman’s death is urged to contact the Weld County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (970) 304-6464 or email Crimetips@weld.gov. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
