Great Falls, MT – Montana residents are bracing for continued blizzard conditions as a Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 9 p.m. MST Wednesday, January 22. The warning impacts areas including Judith Basin County, Fergus County, and the Snowy, Judith, and Little Belt Mountains.

According to the National Weather Service, additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches are expected in lower elevations, with mountain regions receiving as much as 7 inches. Winds gusting up to 55 mph will contribute to widespread blowing snow, reducing visibility below a quarter mile in some areas.

The affected locations include Hobson, Stanford, Lewistown, and Neihart, with hazardous travel conditions reported along routes such as Kings Hill Pass. Officials urge residents to limit travel to emergencies and to carry a winter survival kit if driving becomes unavoidable.

The Montana Department of Transportation advises checking road conditions by calling 511 or visiting their website. Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and rapidly changing visibility.

Residents are reminded to safeguard livestock and take necessary precautions to mitigate exposure risks. With blizzard conditions likely to persist throughout the day, preparedness remains critical.
