Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana faces a challenging weather forecast tonight as a frontal boundary sinks slowly south, bringing multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could produce gusty winds and very heavy rain.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, confidence in the forecast remains low. Storms may develop over southern Lake Michigan and track southeast into southern Michigan, far northern Indiana, and possibly northwest Ohio this morning. Additional storms are expected this afternoon across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, with heavy rain and gusty winds possible. Outside of storm-affected areas, warm and humid conditions with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s are anticipated.

Tonight, thunderstorms are likely to develop across Minnesota and Wisconsin, diving southeast and possibly reaching areas north of Interstate 80/90 by late tonight. These storms could bring wind gusts up to 60 mph and heavy rain. The National Weather Service advises residents to stay tuned for updates as confidence in the forecast is expected to increase throughout the day.
