Beloit, KS – A light wintry mix is forecast to affect parts of north central Kansas through mid-afternoon Wednesday. Travelers may encounter light rain, freezing rain, sleet, and possibly slushy snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, Nebraska, minimal accumulation is expected. Light icing is anticipated to affect elevated surfaces, with snow accumulation limited to a few tenths of an inch, if it occurs at all. While significant travel impacts are not predicted, drivers should remain cautious of potential slick spots.

The affected areas include Phillipsburg, Smith Center, and Beloit, as well as smaller towns such as Osborne and Jewell. Precipitation is expected to gradually diminish from north to south throughout the afternoon.

A formal Winter Weather Advisory is not currently planned due to the limited nature of the expected impacts. However, residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and exercise caution, particularly on bridges and overpasses.
