La Crosse, WI – A Dense Fog Advisory is currently in effect for several counties in western Wisconsin, including Taylor, Clark, Trempealeau, Jackson, Monroe, Juneau, and Adams, until 9 AM CDT this morning.

According to the National Weather Service, visibility in these areas has dropped to a quarter mile or less due to dense fog. This hazardous condition could make travel difficult, particularly for those driving along highways and local roads. Temperatures are also hovering near freezing, which could cause localized slick spots, adding to the potential danger on the roads.

Areas affected include cities such as Tomah, Black River Falls, Whitehall, Arcadia, Medford, Sparta, Friendship, Neillsville, and Mauston.

Travelers are urged to slow down, use headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles to avoid accidents. Visibility will improve as the fog lifts later this morning, but until then, exercise caution if heading out.
