Seattle, WA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Cascade mountain passes of Washington until noon Thursday, with up to 11 inches of snow expected in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle, the advisory impacts the West Slopes of the North and Central Cascades, including Snoqualmie Pass, Stevens Pass, and the Mount Baker Ski Area. Heavy snowfall is expected between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday, with roads likely becoming slick and hazardous, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

Further south, the West Slopes of the South Central Cascades, including Crystal Mountain Ski Area, Ashford, and Packwood, will also see heavy snowfall through Thursday morning. Winds in these areas could gust as high as 35 mph, potentially causing reduced visibility and challenging travel conditions. The heaviest snow is anticipated between midnight and 6 a.m. Thursday.

Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and prepare for delays. Power outages may also be possible in affected regions due to the combined impact of heavy snow and gusty winds.

Travelers should check road conditions before heading out and be prepared for winter driving conditions. For updated information, visit the Washington State Department of Transportation website or tune in to local weather reports.
