Roslyn, WA – A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the upper slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades, including Roslyn and Easton, from Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, heavy snowfall of 8 to 18 inches is possible, with the heaviest accumulation expected above 3,000 feet. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions with low visibility.

Snow levels will fluctuate throughout the storm, beginning at 2,500-3,500 feet Thursday night before rising to 4,000-4,500 feet by Friday afternoon. They are expected to drop to 1,500-2,000 feet Friday night, potentially bringing renewed snowfall to lower elevations. At Snoqualmie Pass, precipitation is forecasted to start as snow, shift to rain Friday afternoon, and then return to snow Friday night.

Drivers are urged to prepare for winter conditions and check for updates as the storm progresses.
