Washington – A Wintry Weekend Brings Snow, Rain, and Wind to Spokane as Clocks ‘Spring Forward’

Spokane residents should prepare for a mix of rain, snow, and gusty winds this weekend as temperatures remain unsteady across the region. As daylight saving time begins early Sunday, a cold front will also move in, bringing winter-like conditions despite the start of spring.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will be partly sunny, with highs reaching 55°F before clouds move in overnight. Sunday will see an increase in precipitation, with snow levels dropping as low as 3,400 feet by nightfall. Breezy conditions, with gusts up to 30 mph, could make travel challenging.

By Monday, a mix of rain and snow is likely in the morning, transitioning to rain in the afternoon as temperatures rise near 50°F. Snow levels will hover around 2,100 feet before increasing later in the day. The chance of precipitation continues into Tuesday and Wednesday, with a 60-80% likelihood of rain mixed with snow at times.

Looking ahead, Spokane will see a gradual warming trend by Thursday, with highs in the upper 40s and a break from steady precipitation. Residents are advised to drive carefully during the weekend’s wintry conditions and to set their clocks forward one hour before bed Saturday night.
