Spokane, WA – Drivers across eastern Washington are being urged to prepare for potential travel disruptions as snow showers and patchy freezing fog are forecast through Thanksgiving. Interstate 90 and other key routes in the region may experience slick road conditions and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a slight chance of snow showers is expected Wednesday afternoon, with patchy freezing fog developing overnight into Thanksgiving morning. Travelers should take extra precautions, as visibility on roadways could drop significantly during the early hours. Temperatures are forecast to stay near freezing, with a high of 40°F on Thanksgiving and a low of 27°F overnight.

Looking ahead, patchy fog and mostly cloudy skies will persist through Friday and Saturday. Highs will hover in the upper 30s to 40°F, while lows dip into the mid-20s. Sunday is expected to remain chilly and mostly cloudy, with similar temperatures.

Those traveling for Thanksgiving are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Ensure vehicles are equipped with winter supplies, and drive cautiously, especially on bridges and overpasses prone to freezing.

The weather service also advises pedestrians to watch for icy sidewalks, particularly during the mornings. Residents staying local can expect cold but manageable conditions for holiday festivities.
