Seattle, WA — Washington residents should prepare for a soggy end to the workweek, as heavy rain returns to Seattle Friday with a 100% chance of precipitation expected during the day and into the night. Winds up to 14 mph may accompany the rain, particularly impacting travel along the I-5 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s storm will bring new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. Rain will likely begin before dawn and persist through evening. Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time, use headlights, and reduce speeds on slick roadways.

Thursday night sets the stage with 90% rain chances and lows in the upper 40s. Friday will remain cool, topping out near 53°F with south winds increasing. Drivers on I-5 and surrounding roads should watch for ponding and limited visibility during peak hours.

Relief comes Saturday with partly cloudy skies and highs near 60°F. Sunday offers even more sunshine with temperatures reaching 60°F again, providing a temporary break before rain returns Monday and Tuesday.

Looking ahead, next week starts with a mix of rain and sun. Monday night could see more rain, with Tuesday offering a brief chance of clearer skies before another round of showers by Wednesday.
