Seattle, WA – Overnight temperatures across parts of Western Washington are expected to fall to near freezing, prompting a frost advisory for several counties from midnight Saturday through 8 a.m. Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, the advisory includes areas across King, Lewis, Thurston, Whatcom, Snohomish, and Pierce counties, along with the Lower and Middle Chehalis River Valley, Southern Puget Sound, and Lake Crescent near U.S. 101. Temperatures are forecast to dip to 32–33°F, increasing the likelihood of frost development, particularly in inland valleys and low-lying areas away from water sources.
The advisory warns that sensitive outdoor vegetation may be harmed or killed if left uncovered. Cities including Olympia, Bellingham, Everett, Monroe, Enumclaw, Chehalis, Aberdeen, and Covington could see widespread frost before sunrise.
Officials urge residents to cover or bring indoors any frost-sensitive plants. Gardeners and farmers across the impacted zones should take immediate precautions, especially in historically cooler pockets.
While not unusual for mid-April, frost this late in the season can still impact early planting and bloom cycles. Normal overnight lows for this time of year hover closer to 38–42°F in many parts of Western Washington.
