Washington – Gray clouds are thickening fast over Seattle this morning, and the first drops of steady rain are beginning to spot windshields across the metro. Roads along I-5 and SR-99 are turning slick, and visibility may dip quickly as rainfall intensifies through the late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, rain becomes widespread today with a 100% chance of precipitation and totals between a quarter and half an inch possible. Highs will struggle near 52°F, keeping conditions cool and damp throughout the day. Winds may gust above 20 mph at times, adding to the messy commute.

Across King County, Bellevue and Tacoma will see similar steady rain, with ponding possible on low-lying roads. Drivers should slow down and allow extra braking distance, especially during heavier bursts. Side streets and shaded areas may stay wet longer into the evening hours.

By Wednesday, March 25, colder air begins to filter in. Daytime rain continues, but temperatures drop into the upper 30s by night. That opens the door for a rain-snow mix across parts of Seattle, particularly after sunset. While accumulation looks minimal, slushy patches could develop on elevated surfaces.

Looking ahead, conditions begin to improve slightly by Thursday with lighter precipitation and partial clearing. Still, the midweek stretch remains unsettled and cool.

Five Day Forecast for Seattle, WA:
Tuesday: Rain, high near 52°F, low 42°F
Wednesday: Rain, high near 50°F, low 38°F (rain-snow mix late)
Thursday: Chance of rain, then partly sunny, high near 53°F, low 36°F
Friday: Sunny, high near 57°F, low 40°F
Saturday: Partly sunny, high near 60°F, low 44°F
