Wenatchee, WA – Gardeners and growers across Central Washington and the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley should brace for a sudden cold snap Monday night, with temperatures expected to dip to near 31°F by early Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a Freeze Watch is in effect from late Monday night through 9 a.m. Tuesday for a wide swath of the region, including Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Chelan, Quincy, and Lewiston. Areas at risk also include Clarkston, Othello, Entiat, and Ephrata, where frost could damage unprotected crops and outdoor plumbing.

Sensitive vegetation is especially vulnerable, and residents are urged to cover plants, disconnect hoses, and insulate exposed pipes before the temperature drop. Agricultural zones like Cashmere and Pangborn Airport may see the most impact, with cold air pooling in low-lying areas.

This will be the coldest night of the week, a sharp contrast after several mild April days. Homeowners and farmers alike should stay alert, as additional freeze alerts may be issued if conditions persist into midweek.
