Spokane, WA – Dense fog is expected to linger across Spokane and eastern Washington through Tuesday, causing hazardous travel conditions. Visibility may drop below half a mile in areas, including US-2, I-90, and the Palouse region, impacting morning commutes. Motorists are urged to use low-beam headlights and reduce speeds on slick roads to ensure safety.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog will be most severe during late-night and early-morning hours, especially near the Columbia Basin and Lewiston to Bonners Ferry. Drivers should allow extra time to reach their destinations and avoid sudden lane changes or hard braking on potentially icy roads.

Tuesday’s forecast: Patchy fog will persist until around 10 a.m. before skies turn mostly cloudy. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 38°F with calm winds. Overnight, fog will return with lows dipping to 28°F, creating potential for frost and black ice.

Looking ahead:

Wednesday: Patchy fog will continue, clearing after 1 p.m. Highs will hover around 34°F with another chilly night at 25°F.

Thursday: Areas of dense fog early, turning partly sunny by afternoon. Highs of 35°F and lows around 25°F.

Friday: A chance of rain or snow by afternoon, with snow levels dropping to 1,800 feet by evening. Highs near 36°F.

Saturday: Foggy start with partly sunny skies later. High of 35°F.

Residents are advised to remain cautious during early commutes this week and monitor updates for changing conditions.
