Twin Cities, MN – The Twin Cities metro area is in for unseasonably warm weather this week. Temperatures are expected to climb between 82 and 89 degrees today and remain in the 80s through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, this is warmer than the usual mid-September highs of 72-74 degrees. Winds will also be a factor, ranging from 15 to 25 mph, adding to the dry, warm conditions.
Tonight, the region will see a drop in temperatures, with lows expected between 62 and 68 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Winds will gradually decrease as the evening progresses.
The current air quality index is at 39, indicating good conditions for outdoor activities. However, the National Weather Service warns that this warm spell will continue until midweek before cooler weather sets in by Friday. Expect rain showers starting on Thursday, bringing much-needed relief from the heat.
As the week continues, residents should prepare for more heat before the weather shifts toward cooler fall conditions by next weekend.
