Richmond, VA – Snowfall is expected to blanket parts of Virginia late tonight, creating hazardous road conditions into Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for central and northern areas, including the I-95 corridor.
According to the advisory, snow will begin after 10 p.m. and continue through 1 p.m. Saturday. Total accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are forecast, with areas south of I-95 possibly seeing higher amounts. Drivers should anticipate slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially during the morning commute on Saturday. Residents are encouraged to reduce travel and use caution if driving cannot be avoided.
Saturday will start with lingering snow before transitioning to partly cloudy skies by afternoon. Highs are expected to reach 36°F with light winds. Overnight temperatures will dip to 22°F, keeping icy conditions in shaded areas.
Looking ahead, Sunday offers relief with sunny skies and a high near 36°F, followed by a mostly clear night with lows around 17°F. Monday will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures, reaching 39°F. However, colder air returns Tuesday with highs near 29°F.
