Blacksburg, VA – The weather in Virginia is about to experience another dramatic shift this week, with a warm-up on the way, followed by a cool down. High pressure will push cloud cover into place today, keeping skies overcast and temperatures cool, ranging from the low 50s to low 60s for highs. Light drizzle is possible throughout the day, but the real change is expected tomorrow when southerly winds shift, bringing warmer air to the region.

By Friday and Saturday, temperatures will rise into the 70s and 80s, with some areas, including parts of the Piedmont, possibly reaching near 90°F for the first time this year. These high temperatures come close to breaking records for the period. However, a cold front will sweep through Sunday, bringing widespread rainfall and a significant cool-down next week. By Sunday, temperatures will drop to the 50s and 60s.

Residents are advised to prepare for the rapidly changing conditions and keep an eye on any potential rainfall over the weekend.
