Annandale, VA – Prepare for a sharp drop in temperatures starting Tuesday evening as Arctic air moves into the region. Wind chills are forecast to plunge into the single digits, making outdoor conditions dangerously cold.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield, daytime highs will peak near 32 degrees on Tuesday before falling to 17 degrees at night. Gusty northwest winds could make it feel even colder, with wind chills dipping below zero in some areas.

Wednesday will remain frigid, with highs reaching only 30 degrees and brisk winds persisting throughout the day. Residents are advised to limit time outdoors, bundle up in layers, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets.

The cold weather will ease slightly by Thursday, with highs near 35 degrees, but nighttime lows will remain in the teens.
