Richmond, VA – A brisk April morning greeted Virginians on Tuesday as a Freeze Warning remained in effect until 9 a.m., with temperatures dipping into the upper 20s and lower 30s across inland regions. Coastal areas experienced slightly milder conditions, with early morning lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA, temperatures will rebound quickly through the morning hours, with afternoon highs ranging from the low to upper 50s statewide. Cities such as Richmond, Emporia, and Farmville are forecast to hit 58°F, while Norfolk and Accomac will see cooler peaks near 52°F.

Despite the chilly start, the day will remain dry, sunny, and seasonally calm, offering favorable conditions for outdoor activities. Light winds are expected to persist, helping sunshine dominate the forecast and improve daytime comfort levels.

The NWS advises residents to protect sensitive vegetation early in the morning and remain cautious while traveling due to patchy frost in rural areas. Though temperatures remain below April norms, no additional freeze alerts have been issued for tonight.

This cool, sunny trend is expected to continue through midweek, with a gradual warming trend by the weekend.
