Virginia weather is shifting quickly along the coast, and drivers near Virginia Beach are already dealing with patchy fog and damp air early today before a sharp warmup builds in.

According to the National Weather Service, fog reduces visibility early before sunshine takes over, pushing temperatures toward 75°F by afternoon. Roads like I-264 and Pacific Avenue may start slick, especially in low-lying areas, so take it slow early .

By Saturday, conditions turn ideal for outdoor plans. Sunshine dominates with highs near 79°F and a light breeze. It’s the best window of the next several days, so take advantage if you can.

But changes arrive quickly. By Sunday afternoon, showers and thunderstorms develop, with rain chances jumping as high as 80%. Winds pick up, and bursts of rain could reduce visibility along coastal routes and bridges.

Meteorologists are tracking this system closely as it pushes east. Conditions may deteriorate quickly later in the day, especially for travel and outdoor events. Keep rain gear ready and monitor alerts.

Behind the system, cooler air settles in fast. Monday brings sunshine but much lower temperatures, with highs near 60°F. That drop will feel noticeable after the weekend warmth.

Looking ahead, early next week stays cool but quiet before a gradual warmup returns midweek, signaling more stable spring conditions ahead.

Five Day Outlook for Virginia Beach, VA:
Saturday: High 79°F / Low 63°F – Sunny and warm
Sunday: High 76°F / Low 50°F – Showers, breezy
Monday: High 60°F / Low 49°F – Cooler, mostly sunny
Tuesday: High 60°F / Low 43°F – Dry and mild
