BLACKSBURG, Va. – Residents across southside Virginia and North Carolina can expect a pleasant midweek with warmer temperatures and lower humidity before storms enter the region on Friday. While some patchy fog may greet early morning commuters in the mountain valleys, sunshine will dominate Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Blacksburg, a few showers and storms are possible Tuesday, primarily impacting areas from southside Virginia into North Carolina. Highs will range from the mid-70s to low 80s in the mountains and reach the low to mid-80s across the foothills and piedmont regions. The mostly sunny and dry conditions are expected to continue through Thursday.

The pleasant weather offers a perfect opportunity for outdoor activities, but residents should prepare for changing conditions by the end of the workweek. An approaching frontal system is set to bring scattered storms and partly sunny skies on Friday, with highs remaining in the 80s.

Drivers should remain cautious of patchy fog during their morning travels early in the week. By Friday, residents should stay aware of developing weather conditions as the chance for showers increases heading into the weekend.
