Stafford, VA – Families across Stafford County now have a convenient way to support local children this holiday season as the George L. Gordon, Jr. Government Center begins its annual Toys for Tots collection drive. Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the lobby of the Government Center, located at 1300 Courthouse Road, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The drive runs through December 9, 2025.

According to Stafford County Government, the center serves as an official drop-off location for the Marine Toys for Tots Program, which distributes toys to children throughout the region each Christmas. The national nonprofit marked 75 years of operations last year and has distributed more than 627 million toys to 281 million children to date. Local efforts continue to play a major role in reaching families in need.

Last year alone, the Quantico Marine Toys for Tots drive provided 146,503 toys to 134,346 children in the region, underscoring the strong demand and consistent community support during the holiday season. County officials noted that every donated toy helps brighten the holidays for a child who might otherwise go without a gift.

Residents, businesses, and community organizations can also get involved by hosting their own collection events or volunteering with the program. Additional information, including opportunities to support local drop sites, is available through the Toys for Tots regional website.
