According to the National Weather Service, widespread fog blanketed the region this morning, creating hazardous conditions for commuters. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles. The advisory covers northern and central Virginia, extending into portions of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Rain will develop later this afternoon, with temperatures climbing to the low 50s. Tonight, rain will intensify as temperatures rise to near 60 degrees. Winds are expected to increase, with gusts reaching up to 33 mph.

• Wednesday: Heavy rain continues through the morning, with temperatures dropping sharply to the upper 40s by afternoon. Winds will gust up to 35 mph.
• Thursday: Skies clear, bringing sunny but cooler weather, with highs only reaching 39 degrees.
• Friday: Mostly sunny and slightly warmer, with highs around 43 degrees.
