Burlington, VT – Temperatures will remain cool but steady across Vermont this weekend, offering calm conditions before rain and freezing weather return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring sunshine with a high near 26°F, paired with light northerly winds of 3 to 6 mph. Residents can expect clear skies Saturday night, with a low around 9°F. On Sunday, mostly sunny conditions will continue, with highs near 32°F.

The weather will take a turn on Monday, as a mix of rain and snow is forecast by afternoon. Temperatures will rise to a high of 39°F, but roads could become slick, particularly during the evening commute. By Monday night, heavier rain is expected, with sustained winds of 11 to 18 mph.

Tuesday brings the week’s most significant weather shift, with highs reaching 47°F, but accompanied by high winds of 14 to 21 mph and periods of rain. Motorists along I-89 and surrounding areas should anticipate reduced visibility and potential standing water during heavy rain.

Later in the week, a drop in temperatures and the chance of freezing rain could impact commutes on Wednesday and Thursday. Travelers are advised to monitor updates and use caution during the midweek transition to colder conditions.

With mild weekend weather ahead, this is an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities before the more severe weather systems arrive. Residents should prepare for fluctuating road conditions and pack emergency kits in their vehicles for next week’s unpredictable conditions.
