Burlington, VT – Snow showers continue to affect the region Wednesday morning, bringing slick roads and gusty winds to parts of northern Vermont. Drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution as winds up to 30 mph and accumulating snow create hazardous conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, upslope snow showers are expected to taper off by early afternoon. Northern areas, including the Adirondacks and Green Mountains, could see an additional 0.5 to 3 inches of snow. Wind gusts will begin to calm later in the evening, though temperatures will drop into the teens to low 20s.
Thursday brings mostly cloudy skies and a high of 24°F, with calmer winds of 6 to 9 mph. By Friday, conditions improve slightly with partly sunny skies and highs near 30°F, though overnight lows will remain in the teens.
The weekend forecast shows a return of mixed precipitation. Saturday afternoon could bring rain and snow, with highs near 37°F. Snow is expected to continue into Sunday morning, potentially affecting travel.
Residents should stay updated on road conditions, especially on frequently traveled routes such as Interstate 89 and US Route 2. Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle and prepare for fluctuating weather.
