Burlington, VT – Rain is expected to arrive in the Burlington area by Wednesday, potentially impacting travel along I-89 and other key roadways. While Tuesday will see partly sunny skies, increasing cloud cover is forecast for midweek, followed by showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, a high-pressure system will temporarily clear the skies Tuesday, with temperatures reaching a comfortable 71°F. However, by Wednesday afternoon, clouds will thicken again, bringing a 50-80% chance of rain by the evening. Drivers along I-89 should prepare for wet conditions, especially during the evening commute, with possible localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The weather is expected to remain unsettled through the rest of the week. Thursday brings a continued 55% chance of rain, with cooler temperatures, peaking at 68°F. By Friday, conditions are expected to improve, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 70°F. Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be dry, with highs in the low 70s.
