Burlington, VT – Light snow showers are expected across Vermont tonight, particularly along I-89, with slippery conditions possible on roadways. Snow showers will taper off by 11 p.m., with little to no accumulation expected. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 16°F, and light south winds at 5 to 8 mph will keep wind chills manageable for the region.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s forecast brings partly sunny skies with highs near 29°F. Winds will remain calm during the day, but by Friday evening, breezier conditions will arrive. Gusts could reach 34 mph as temperatures dip to a low of 25°F. Travelers should prepare for sudden wind shifts, especially near open roadways like I-89.

Looking ahead, the weekend brings continued seasonably cool weather. A 30% chance of snow showers is forecast for Saturday evening into early Sunday morning, though little accumulation is expected. Saturday’s high will hover around 28°F, with gusts as strong as 21 mph. Temperatures will drop overnight to 20°F, with breezes continuing into Sunday.

Sunday will see mostly cloudy skies and a high near 26°F. As Martin Luther King Day approaches on Monday, conditions will become colder. Highs are expected to reach just 13°F, with northwest winds adding to the chill. Wind chills could fall below zero, creating hazardous conditions for those outdoors for extended periods.

Residents are advised to drive cautiously during overnight snow showers and prepare for the colder weather ahead. Bundle up, monitor road conditions, and plan accordingly for weekend travel or outdoor activities.
