Salt Lake City, UT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of Utah’s mountain regions, with heavy snowfall expected to impact travel through Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City, snow will continue falling across the Wasatch Mountains, Western Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs, and Central Mountains until 11 a.m. MST Tuesday. Additional snow accumulations could reach up to 6 inches in the central Wasatch and as much as 10 inches in the Manti Skyline and Pahvant Mountains in central Utah. In the Southern Mountains, snowfall is expected to total between 2 to 6 inches, with the advisory ending earlier at 5 a.m. MST Tuesday.

Officials warn that winter driving conditions are likely across affected areas, and traction law restrictions may be enacted. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) advises travelers to check real-time road conditions at udottraffic.utah.gov before heading out. Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution, particularly on mountain roads and high-elevation passes.
