Salt Lake City, UT – A powerful winter storm is expected to bring up to 36 inches of snow to Utah’s mountains by Wednesday. Areas in the Wasatch and Uinta ranges, as well as the Manti Skyline, could see significant snowfall through the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Total snow accumulations are forecast to reach 12–20 inches in northern and southern mountains, with the highest elevations like the Tushar Mountains potentially receiving 30–36 inches.
Travel conditions may become hazardous, with traction laws possible on mountain passes. The Utah Department of Transportation urges drivers to check road conditions before traveling and carry emergency supplies.
