Salt Lake City, Utah – Showers could dampen the Salt Lake City area through Wednesday night as a series of weak systems bring light rain and a slight chance of thunderstorms to northern Utah.

According to the National Weather Service, the region faces a 30% chance of overnight rain Sunday into Monday, followed by partly sunny skies Monday afternoon. A higher chance of showers returns Wednesday, with possible afternoon thunderstorms and temperatures climbing into the low 70s. Winds may shift from southeast to northwest throughout the period, occasionally gusting above 10 mph.

Locally, roads like I-15 and I-80 could see brief slick spots during early morning commutes, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday nights should stay mostly dry, but unsettled conditions may affect evening plans midweek.

Residents are advised to monitor changing weather patterns and avoid flooded low-lying areas during isolated downpours. It’s also a good time to check sump pumps and secure loose outdoor items ahead of potential gusty winds.

Rain chances taper by Thursday morning, with sunny skies and highs near 70°F expected to return. More showers could develop by Saturday, so updates are likely later in the week.
