Salt Lake City, UT – Rain and snow are moving into northern Utah, bringing a mix of wet roads and freezing temperatures overnight into Saturday. Travelers along I-15 should prepare for slick conditions as rain transitions to snow by Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday before turning to snow after 8 p.m. Overnight lows will dip to 25°F, and winds will shift northwest at 5-9 mph. Little to no snow accumulation is expected in the valley, but mountain areas could see a fresh dusting.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 40°F, offering a brief break from precipitation. However, nighttime temperatures will plunge to 22°F. Sunday and Monday will remain clear but cold, with highs reaching only 38°F and overnight lows dropping to 21°F.

Drivers should use caution on I-15, especially during Friday’s rain and snow. Those heading into the mountains should prepare for winter driving conditions. Stay updated on changing weather alerts and road conditions through the National Weather Service and Utah DOT.
