Salt Lake City, UT – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Winter Weather Advisories for parts of Utah, warning residents to prepare for hazardous travel conditions beginning early Thursday.
According to the NWS, Eastern Box Elder County, including Brigham City and Snowville, will see widespread snow starting at 5 a.m. Thursday and continuing through 8 p.m. Two separate snow events are expected, with total accumulations ranging from 1-2 inches in Brigham City to as much as 6 inches along the I-84 corridor near Snowville. Motorists are urged to exercise caution during both the morning and evening commutes.
In the Central Mountains, snowfall will be more significant, with 6-12 inches anticipated over several rounds of precipitation from Thursday morning through Friday night. Locations such as Joes Valley, Fish Lake, and Cove Fort are likely to experience challenging travel conditions, especially in higher elevations and along Skyline Drive near Manti.
