Denver, CO – Colorado residents should prepare for cooler temperatures and a mix of rain and snow starting late Sunday evening. While much of the region will see mild conditions during the day, an approaching system could complicate travel by early Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will start with mostly sunny skies and highs near 57 degrees in Denver. Areas along the I-25 corridor will experience light southwest winds at 5 to 7 mph. However, clouds will increase by the evening as temperatures drop to a low near 27 degrees.
A chance of rain is expected to begin around 8 p.m. Sunday, transitioning to a rain-snow mix overnight. Snow accumulation is forecast to remain light, with less than an inch expected in the Denver metro. For those traveling to higher elevations, such as the foothills or mountain passes, freezing conditions could create slick roadways.
Looking ahead, Monday will see clearing skies with highs near 49, but the cold front will linger. Rain is likely by Tuesday evening, turning to snow overnight into Wednesday. Urban areas could see measurable snowfall, while mountain regions are at risk for heavier accumulation. Temperatures will plummet, with highs only reaching 40 degrees on Wednesday and lows near 22.
Travelers are urged to monitor conditions closely, particularly midweek when precipitation could disrupt Thanksgiving plans. For updated forecasts and road advisories, visit weather.gov.
