La Crosse, WI – The National Weather Service in La Crosse reports that a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and southwest Wisconsin through early Sunday morning as light snow gradually exits the area.
Snowfall will taper off from west to east overnight, but roadways remain slick and snow-covered across many communities. The advisory covers Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, and Clayton Counties in Iowa; Mower, Fillmore, and Houston Counties in Minnesota; and Vernon, Crawford, Richland, and Grant Counties in Wisconsin.
Forecasters expect an additional one to two inches of accumulation before precipitation ends by daybreak. Motorists are advised to slow down and allow extra time for early-morning travel, particularly along U.S. Highways 52, 61, and 18.
