Residents across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia are preparing for heavy snowfall as a winter storm warning remains in effect until Tuesday morning. Parts of the region could see up to 9 inches of snow, with hazardous travel conditions expected throughout the storm’s duration.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, areas such as Preston and Tucker counties in West Virginia are forecasted to receive the highest snowfall totals, along with a light glaze of ice. Winds gusting up to 40 mph are likely to reduce visibility to less than 1/4 mile in some locations. Other counties, including Westmoreland in Pennsylvania and Guernsey in Ohio, could see snow totals ranging from 3 to 8 inches by Monday evening.

Travelers are advised to delay trips if possible, as snow-covered and icy roads will make driving conditions extremely hazardous. Those who must travel should ensure their vehicles are winter-ready, drive cautiously, and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

The NWS encourages residents to report snow and ice accumulations via social media to help track the storm’s impact. The snowfall is expected to taper off by early Tuesday morning, but lingering delays are anticipated.
