The Philadelphia–New Jersey–Delaware region will enjoy a calmer and sunnier Saturday, but a much more active stretch of weather is approaching, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

After several blustery days, today brings sunshine, lighter northwest winds, and high temperatures in the lower to mid-40s. Skies turn cloudy tonight with lows around 30 degrees and light winds—setting the stage for the next round of precipitation.

The first system arrives Sunday, bringing an increasing chance of light rain by late morning into the afternoon. Forecast confidence is high, with a 60–80% chance of rainfall across the region. Rainfall totals look modest, generally 0.10” to 0.25”, but expect overcast skies and a noticeable uptick in breeziness. While it won’t be warm, it will feel less harsh than recent days thanks to reduced wind speeds.

Monday looks colder and dry before the second—and more impactful—system arrives on Tuesday.

The Tuesday system is the one to watch. Current data shows the best chance of accumulating snowfall near or north of I-78, including parts of northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. While the exact snow amounts remain uncertain, forecasters note that colder air, timing, and track of the storm could support a mix of rain and wet snow across the region, particularly during the day on Tuesday.

South of I-78, including the Philadelphia metro, a chilly rain is more likely at this time. But subtle shifts could change the rain–snow line, so residents should monitor updates closely.

With two rounds of precipitation and temperatures staying below normal, travel conditions may vary throughout the week. Forecasters recommend staying updated as confidence in Tuesday’s storm increases.

Enjoy today’s sunshine—more active weather is on the way.
