Ontario, CA – Two earthquakes struck back-to-back within a neighborhood near Ontario International Airport, causing concern among local residents. A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit the area early Sunday, followed by a second 2.5-magnitude tremor just an hour later. Both occurred within five kilometers southeast of Ontario, shaking the same residential streets.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), more than 6,000 people submitted reports to the “Did You Feel It?” initiative, contributing to community-based data on the quake’s intensity. Many residents expressed concerns about the unusual occurrence of two earthquakes in such quick succession.

The first earthquake, at a depth of 5.2 kilometers, was felt across much of southern California, while the second tremor, slightly deeper at 5.9 kilometers, continued to rattle nerves. Experts from USGS are monitoring the situation closely but have not suggested any direct link between the two quakes.

No significant damage or injuries have been reported so far, but residents remain cautious, wondering if more tremors could follow.
