Twin Cities, Minnesota – Sunny skies and mild highs in the mid-70s will offer a pleasant midweek break across Minnesota today, but a noticeable warm-up is on the way by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, Wednesday will remain mostly sunny with highs ranging from 65 to 75°F and overnight lows dropping to the 30s and 40s across central and northern counties. The cooler air lingers today, but temperatures will begin to rise sharply Thursday into the weekend.

By Thursday, southern and central Minnesota—including the Twin Cities metro—can expect sunny conditions with highs climbing to 80°F in some areas. Overnight lows will hover in the 40s to 50s. Areas near lakes, such as Alexandria and Brainerd, may stay a few degrees cooler.

Friday will feel more like early summer, with highs of 75 to 85°F statewide and lows staying well above freezing. Fire danger may increase in rural counties due to dry, sunny conditions, so residents are encouraged to avoid open burning. Outdoor activities and backyard gatherings will be popular, especially in the metro, where evening temps stay in the 50s.

Temperatures will remain above average into the weekend. The next weather update is expected Thursday morning, with possible advisories for elevated fire risk.
