MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – A dense fog advisory is in place until 9 a.m. Thursday for areas south and west of Interstate 94, where drivers could see visibility drop to a quarter-mile or less. Conditions should improve by late morning, with skies turning partly sunny across much of Minnesota.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, temperatures will stay mild, ranging from the mid-70s to near 80 degrees. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s, keeping mornings cool and damp.
On Friday, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could develop, particularly in southern Minnesota, though the chance of rain remains around 20 percent. Saturday brings a higher risk for storms in southwestern Minnesota, with morning fog again possible before skies partly clear.
Drivers along I-94 and rural highways are urged to use low-beam headlights and allow extra travel time during the morning commute. The fog could reduce visibility enough to impact early traffic and school bus routes.
Conditions should gradually improve heading into Sunday, though more unsettled weather is possible early next week.
