Minneapolis, Minn. – Minnesota is stepping into a stretch of cool but pleasant weather, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s while sunshine dominates the days. Residents may want to grab a light jacket tonight as temperatures fall to between 40 and 48 degrees across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, winds will diminish tonight, leaving behind calm and crisp conditions. Monday will bring mostly sunny skies with breezes at 10 to 15 mph, keeping daytime highs in the mid-60s to near 70. By Tuesday, winds ease further as sunshine holds, allowing temperatures to climb slightly into the upper 60s and low 70s.

Communities across southern and central Minnesota, including St. Cloud, Rochester, and Mankato, can expect similar conditions. For those with outdoor plans, the weather looks favorable with no major systems moving through early this week. Cooler evenings, however, may make morning commutes and late-night outings feel more like early fall than late August.

The quiet stretch should persist through midweek, though forecasters note that changes could arrive later in the week as new systems approach.
