St. Paul, MN – Minnesota residents are in for a chilly night as the National Weather Service (NWS) issues a Freeze Warning for several counties across central Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Tuesday night. Forecasters say temperatures could fall into the low 30s, prompting concerns for unprotected plants and late-season gardens.
According to the US National Weather Service Twin Cities, skies will stay mostly clear this week, but overnight lows will bring the coldest air of the season so far. A Frost Advisory has also been posted for areas just southwest of the warning zone. “Plenty of sun over the next few days, but that doesn’t mean it won’t get chilly overnight,” the NWS noted in its Tuesday morning update.
Wednesday morning will start cold, with widespread frost possible before sunshine warms the region into the upper 60s. By Thursday, forecasters expect highs in the 70s and a chance of light rain later in the day, signaling a brief return to milder fall weather.
Residents are urged to cover sensitive plants and prepare for early-morning frost across rural areas tonight and early Wednesday.
