Tulsa, Oklahoma – Dense fog is making for a dangerous Thursday morning commute across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, with visibility dropping below half a mile in several counties. A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m., impacting drivers in Tulsa, Muskogee, Fayetteville, and surrounding areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, visibility as low as a quarter-mile is being reported in parts of far eastern and northeastern Oklahoma, stretching into northwest Arkansas. The advisory includes cities such as Miami, Bartlesville, and Fort Smith, where travel may be severely hampered by low visibility and slick roads.
Motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles. Morning school bus routes and early deliveries could face delays due to the thick fog blanketing key highways like I-44 and US-412.
The fog is expected to lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise, but drivers should remain cautious through rush hour. Additional advisories could be issued if conditions worsen or visibility does not improve.
