Tornado Warning in Middle Tennessee: McMinnville, Rock Island State Park Impacted Until 1:45 a.m.

McMinnville, TN — A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Middle Tennessee, including McMinnville, Spencer, and Rock Island State Park, lasting until 1:45 a.m. CST Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, radar detected rotation from a severe thunderstorm near McMinnville at 1:12 a.m., moving northeast at 45 mph. The storm poses threats of flying debris, damage to mobile homes, vehicles, roofs, and trees.

Residents in Warren, White, and Van Buren counties are urged to seek shelter immediately in basements or interior rooms of sturdy buildings. Locations such as Spencer and Fall Creek Falls State Park are expected to be impacted by 1:35 a.m.

Officials emphasize that those outdoors, in vehicles, or in mobile homes should move to the nearest substantial shelter. The storm also presents the possibility of hail under 0.75 inches in diameter.

The tornado warning remains active until 1:45 a.m. CST. Residents should stay alert to updates from local authorities and take necessary precautions.
