Cleveland, OH – Showers and thunderstorms are set to move through the I-71 corridor, affecting northeastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania until 8 PM tonight. According to the US National Weather Service Cleveland, the first wave of storms will be largely isolated, but capable of producing heavy rain and lightning.
The storms, developing along the I-71 corridor, will move eastward, potentially affecting key areas including Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown. Residents are advised to prepare for brief torrential rainfall and cloud-to-ground lightning, though most storms are expected to remain non-severe.
According to the weather service, the region west of the I-71 corridor will see mainly dry conditions with a reduced risk of isolated thunderstorms. Despite the storms’ intensity, the likelihood of severe weather remains low, with only isolated stronger wind gusts possible.
