St. Louis, MO – A strong storm system will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to the Illinois-Missouri border late Thursday night, impacting travel and local conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Thursday morning, intensifying by nightfall. Thunderstorms are possible after midnight, with a 90% chance of precipitation continuing into early Friday. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest at 5 to 7 mph, and overnight lows will hover around 44°F.

By Friday, showers will taper off, giving way to mostly cloudy skies and highs near 52°F. The weekend will bring improving conditions, with mostly sunny skies Saturday and a high of 52°F. Sunday will be even warmer, reaching 63°F with continued sunshine.
